Sustainability

Sustainable Development at The Brando

Pacific Beachcomber’s latest resort project is The Brando, a luxury eco-resort featuring 35 private villas on the late actor’s remote private island, 20 minutes by air from Tahiti on Air Tetiaroa. The Brando is constructed to the most exacting requirements of environmental design and is close to fully self sustaining, with renewable sources of non-fossil energy. It is also home to the Tetiaroa Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to research, conservation, and education related to the delicate atoll ecology of the island.

Preserving the Environment through Te Mana O Te Moana

Richard Bailey, President of Pacific Beachcomber, is also a founding member of Te Mana O Te Moana (literally, “the Spirit of the Ocean”), a Tahiti-based non-profit organization devoted to the protection of marine wildlife—particularly the green sea turtle. Te Mana O Te Moana also works closely with local authorities on a several youth-oriented educational and public outreach programs.
